Many photographers are embarrassed to call themselves photographers because they are not sure if they are good enough to label themselves as one. Sometimes they look for "safe" labels like "I'm an amateur photographer" or "I'm just a beginner". Cut the crap. Everybody is learning, and the level you are at is irrelevant to whether you call yourself a photographer. If it was, then almost nobody could call themselves a photographer--because we are all learning.

Your self-image is crucial to how fast you learn. Own the title, and start referring to yourself as a photographer. Take pride in it. It will change the way you think. It's an important step in your journey.
